Rustic Navy and Yellow Swor Cottage Wedding

The fabulous lakeside Swor Cottage in Weirsdale, Florida was the backdrop for this rustic country wedding. From the unique hillside ceremony to the reception underneath a beautiful majestic oak tree, Shawna and Jake’s wedding was simply charming. Vibrant sunflowers were found in the cascading bouquets and throughout the vintage decor. And those junior groomsmen! So adorable!

From the Bride, Shawna:
How They Met: Jake and I met in high school and were typical teenagers- one day we liked each other, the next we didn’t. During our senior year we got back together and this time, we stuck it out. For being young, we went through some tough times. Jake went through fire college and then moved to South Florida for work. I went through two years of nursing school, which was the hardest obstacle I have ever faced. Being apart and facing these obstacles made our love stronger and our desire to be together even greater.

From the Bride, Shawna:
How He Proposed: Jake moved back close to home when I was almost done with nursing school. We agreed that we wouldn’t move in together unless we were engaged. So, with that said, on February 21, 2014, my family was having a BBQ at my parent’s house. This was nothing different, we had to get togethers all the time, and boy was I excited! Everyone was coming and I later I found out why! Jake showed up that night after he got off work. I never suspected a thing, but somehow my mom had gotten everyone in the barn and here goes Jake grabbing me and hugging me in front of everyone! And then it started… he said a few words to everyone there and then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. And when he showed me the ring? OH, MY WORD! Of course, I said yes!

Everyone clapped and cried and woohooo’d! I couldn’t stop smiling! We started planning the wedding right away. Even though we planned the wedding for a year and a half away, it went by so fast! I found the best bridesmaids and groomsmen anyone could ask for and the most amazing vendors. The wedding day was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen! It was absolutely everything I had pictured and I had everyone I wanted standing by my side. As the night went on, as promised, there was BBQ, booze, and booty shaking! The night couldn’t have been more amazing. It was truly unforgettable!
