Multicultural Wedding at The Rusty Pelican – Nisha and Andrew
Nisha and Andrew’s wedding was a beautiful mix of cultures, celebrated with both Hindu and Jewish ceremonies. For the Hindu ceremony, Nisha dressed in traditional red and gold, while the bridal party wore bold blue with gold accents. Andrew looked perfectly at home on his white horse during the baraat! The ceremony site itself looked fit for royalty, with gold pillars, ceiling drapes, and big bouquets of hydrangeas.
For the outdoor Jewish ceremony, Nisha looked stunning in a dazzling beaded trumpet gown and carried a bouquet of lilies. The men were dressed to impress in navy and gray suits, while the bridesmaids all wore varying shades of purple. After saying their vows under the chuppah, Nisha and Andrew walked along the water’s edge for their portaits as husband and wife. Their reception included lots of fun details, like the homage to their favorite football teams on their cake! The newlyweds were even serenaded before they danced the night away with their guests. This multicultural wedding was truly the best of both worlds!
From the bride:
I was just a girl watching my favorite college football team (University of Florida) play and he was just a boy dressed as a male cheerleader for Halloween with his friends. Our paths crossed one night and in that moment our lives changed forever. Over the next year a strong friendship developed. Andrew became the supportive and caring person I needed as I went through a stressful time of graduating from optometry school and beginning my life career. He would always be the one to make me smile, give me words of encouragement when I needed it, and put my needs and happiness before his. I soon realized I couldn’t imagine my life without him. Andrew and I see the beauty in each other inside and out. We fill our home with immense love; love for our family, love for our friends, love for our beautiful dog Lily, and most importantly love for each other.
