Winter Inspired Wedding at Casa Feliz
From Jamie Reinhart Photography: Somaya fell in love with the simple and elegant charm of Winter Park's prestigious Casa Feliz. She also loved the warm, earthy feel of the venue. Her color scheme was inspired by the search "winter wedding" on Pinterest, and she let her planner, Dandy Details Events, take care of the rest. It is always fun when a couple gives creative control to the vendors and Rachael did an exceptional job executing Somaya's hope for an elegant wedding featuring the warmer of the winter colors.
Another vendor who was given creative control was the talented Sarah of Bluegrass Chic. Again, Somaya told her the color scheme and Sarah went for it. As you can see, the vibrant colors of the flowers really bring the wedding together. As for the couple, they are as sweet and simple as they come. They met at a dinner party and enjoy spending time with each other, their friends, and trying new foods. Somaya loves how patient Ahmed is, and Ahmed loves how kind Somaya is. They had a beautiful non-formal ceremony attended by the closest of family, and then followed with dinner and dancing.
How did he propose (from bride Somaya)?
I was at home in my pajamas when my parents insisted I change to say hello to my uncle. I thought to myself, "Why would my uncle care if I'm in my pajamas?" So naturally, I walk out of my room looking crazy to find Ahmed in formal attire. Turns out he flew down from Michigan to surprise me. He took me out on a romantic date and I came home engaged! (After I changed of course)
Advice from Somaya, the bride:
What advice would you give other couples about the wedding planning process?
I would advice couples to take it easy, enjoy the process, and go in open minded. No matter how long you work on your "agenda," your wedding day will deviate from the plan... embrace it and just have fun!
Is there any advice that you would give engaged couples about married life?
Enjoy the learning process, it's truly an adventure!
